1991
Christof Straub (guitar, vocals and songwriting) and Edina Thalhammer (vocals) form Papermoon. They initially play covers of the Beatles and Suzanne Vega, but soon start writing their own songs, which go on to win the Pop-o-drom band contest in the fall of ’91.

1992
Papermoon finance their first recordings on their own. In Wolfgang Czeland’s studio they produce the original tracks of the songs “Night After Night”, “Tell Me a Poem”, “Dancing Again”, “Wer bist du” and “The Man at the Window”.
Ö3, Austria’s most popular radio station, starts to play the song “Night After Night”. Andreas Weinek from BMG Ariola signs the band.
The existing recordings are mixed by Falco producer Robert Ponger, and supplemented by further recordings. The first Ppermoon album “Tell Me a Poem”, is finished at the end of the summer. Papermoon’s style is clearly defined through this album: folk-pop in the singer-songwriter tradition in three languages: English, German und French.
In November, the first single “Tell Me a Poem” is released. This single stays in the Austrian charts for 17 weeks, and makes it all the way to the top 5.

1993
The first album “Tell Me a Poem”, is released in February, and quickly moves to No.1 on the Austrian top 40. It was in first place for three weeks, and stayed at second place for eight weeks after that. All together, over 100,000 copies of “Tell Me a Poem” (Double Platinum Status) have been sold.
In May, Papermoon represents Austria at the MTV-Video-Song-Contest with the video for “Tell Me a Poem”. Papermoon tours through the year, and plays only sold-out venues. In conjunction with the German release, the band does it’s first club tour in Germany.

1994
Papermoon produce their second album “The world in Lucy’s eyes”. The summer single “Lucy’s eyes” becomes an Airplay-Hit, and is still today the most-played Papermoon single on Austrian radio. The album “The world in Lucy’s eyes” achieves gold status, and is released in Switzerland, Germany and Japan.

1995
The video to “Lucy’s eyes” is played on MTV and Viva, and Papermoon represents Austria again in the MTV-Video-Song-Contest.
A comprehensive tour follows, that again brings Papermoon to Germany.
Christof spends some time in New York writing songs.

1996
Together with the boss at the time of BMG-Germany, Thomas Stein, Christof Straub and Edina Thalhammer travel around the USA. In the songwriting capital of Nashville, new material is produced for the coming album, which will simply be called “Papermoon”.
“Papermoon” is released in November, and soon thereafter achieves Gold Status.
1997
The album “Papermoon” is released in Japan, with the live version of “Lucy’s eyes” as the bonus track. Some last concerts as a group take place, as Edina Thalhammer soon decides to distance herself from the group and reorient herself anew as an artist.

1998
According to the wishes of the record company, Papermoon continues on with Christof Straub. The new voices of Papermoon are Christof’s companion Roumina Wilfling (later Straub) and Barbara Pichler. The single “Come dance with me” is released.
1999
Together with Robert Ponger, material is collected for a new Papermoon album that is never to be released.
2000
Christof Straub develops an extensive layout for a science fiction fairy-tale called “KILL&WIN”, and pitches it to the Vereinigten Bühnen Wien as a musical.
2001
Rudi Klausnitzer, director of the Vereinigten Bühnen Wien signs “KILL&WIN”. The science fiction fairy-tale is made ready for the stage in the next years, but is never actually performed.
2002
Edina Thalhammer releases her solo project Tau with EMI: her own lyrics, songs, and a collection of poems.
BMG releases a best-of Papermoon under the name “past and present”. Roumina Straub does the vocals for three new songs on this album.
2003
Christof Straub writes songs and produces demos for the German-speaking, girls’ rock band Aschenputtel, which is made up of Roumina Straub and Barbara Pichler.
In summer there is a meeting with Chris Gelbmann, head of A&R at Universal Music Austria. Chris Gelbmann suggests a reunion with the original members of Papermoon.

2004
Christof Straub and Edina Thalhammer sign with Universal. The tenth Papermoon single “I was blind” appears in May. The “Reunion” tour and new album “Come Closer” follow. The new album makes it into the top 10 of the Austrian Top 40. In the fall, Papermoon plays numerous concerts, including several gigs in Germany opening for Katie Melua.
The single “Over You” becomes an Airplay-Hit, and the Christmas single “On the day before Xmas” climbs into the top 5 of the Austrian Top 40 Single Charts. The album “Come Closer” reaches Gold-Status in December.

2005
Christof Straub writes the song “Deine Hilfe wird gebraucht” with André Heller. The proceeds from the album go to the victims of the tsunami catastrophe. The album reaches No. 1 in the Austrian Top 40.
In May 2005, Christof goes on a trip to Paris. He locks himself away in an appartement over the rooftops of the city just to write songs. In a short time the basics of the songs of the new album are written.
In July, Edina and Christof are going in the studio of their friend Christian Seitz to record the basic tracks. (Guitars and vocals) Overdubs are recorded at sunshine studios, Vienna.
The Album is mixed in August by Filippo Gaetani at Hafner.Studio, Ebreichsdorf.
“True love” is released on September 30.
